Maureen Zappala is a former NASA propulsion engineer, having spent 13 years at the Lewis Research center in Cleveland, conducting jet engine research. She’s now a speaker and presentation coach, as well as a mom to 2 teenagers. In fact, she says “Raising kids is WAY HARDER than jet engine research. WAY HARDER!”You may think that engineers are not known for their verbal communication skills, but that’s a stereotype to be shattered. In 2009, she was in the top 10 out of 35,000 contestants in the Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking contest. Today, she’s the owner of High Altitude Strategies, a speaking and coaching service, where she speaks on influence and teambuilding, and trains people to be more interesting and engaging communicators. She challenges and entertains her audiences with her keynotes and workshops, which include “Leadership is NOT Rocket Science!”, “Is Your Supersonic Team Producing Subsonic Results?” and “How to Add S.P.I.C.E. to Your Speeches.”

What is the most effective way to motivate business leaders to strengthen their business success skills? As the Chief “Edutainment” Officer of The Accidental Accountant™, Peter Margaritis uses laughter, excitement, and inspiration to help audience members strive to reach higher levels in their business achievements. One of the greatest benefits to Peter’s presentation is his humor and fun style, which stems from his experience performing stand-up and improvisational comedy.
Peter connects with each person in the room, and teaches them how to strengthen their interpersonal skills by using specific principles of improvisation, communication, and leadership. He helps people to see that they can build effective leaders and teams by utilizing tools that can be applied immediately.
Instead of following the “same old” routines in the workplace, Peter helps to break up the monotony by teaching audience members the techniques that are needed to excel in their careers. Each person can learn how to be stronger leaders and effective teammates, as they apply the principles of truly understanding the needs of their team so that they can inspire and motivate every person they interact with.
Peter has authored a book titled, Improv Is No Joke: Using Improvisation to Create Positive Results in Leadership and in Life, where he discusses how the principles of improvisation, along with the two most powerful words in the English language — Yes, And — will create a positive dialog to grow your business and career.
